Synopsis
Set in the 1980s against the backdrop of a small-town traditional Muslim weaving community, the film chronicles the lives of the people as modernization, machines, and mass exodus to Gulf countries lead to a decline in the community’s fortunes. Weaved into this is a romantic saga of a star-crossed couple,Tahir and Nilofer. Meera Kathiravan’s third directorial effort, the plot is inspired by ‘Neithal’, a short story by V. S. Muhammad Ameen.
